Our home has more than 30 ceiling lights that all need covering. In my search for shades + uplighters that offered good light emission, beautiful shadows + aesthetically enhances the ceiling, I was urged to think outside of the box. I found the copper piping first in a shop on Wellington Street + instantly wanted to use it in homage to the beautiful custom of neck rings in Myanmar.
The coils were created round an upturned vase. It’s a lovely shape to look at + it was fun to make, but the weight of it would pull down my ceiling + the copper has turned grey with handling. Stage two of the Copper Shade will tackle these problems. May no bulb be left uncovered.
